For this season Kiira Korpi has all new programs and outfits, but she admits that especially the short program has been troublesome. But a lot of work has been done in the practices and hopefully it shows in the nationals next weekend.

In Cup of Russia even the short program outfit took some damage:

Before warm-up I hurried into the bathroom and there were some nails on the wall in which the dress got stuck. The sleeve was torned but fortunately we were able to fix it with a safety pin.

Kiira goes to the nationals to get the best possible result, but more important than the absolute placing is that she is able to do a clean performances to which she herself can be satisfied. The fight for the title will be tough and especially Susanna Pöykiö has been in good condition in the GP-competitions.

The goals for Kiira are in the European and World Champioships. She believes that with two flawless programs she could be on the podium at Euros, but the realistic goal is to improve from the last years sixth place and to get a spot for the World Championships in Tokyo, to which the two best Finnish ladies from Euros are sent.
