Don’t know what to say. Kiira just wasn’t able to produce it in the free skate either and she dropped to fourth place. So it seems that her season might have come to a half before it even started, since there’s “only” three spots for Finland in Euros and those are usually given to the top-three finishers in the Nationals.

Everybody had so high hopes for Kiira this season so this might feel like a disaster. But it’s not the end of the world and life goes on. If the season ends here, she’ll be back twice as strong next year. And we’ll be waiting.

Update: I’ve learned that the seasons personal best would be the criteria when selecting team for the Euros, and if that’s the case then Kiira would make it into the team along with Susanna and Laura. But we don’t know that for sure until the Finnish association makes their decision.

何と言っていいのかわからない。キーラはフリースケーティングでもうまくいかず、4位に転落。フィンランドからヨーロッパ選手権へは「たったの」3人しか出られないし、いつもなら国内選手権のトップ3が出場するから、キーラにとってはまだシーズンが始まったところなのに、もう半分まで来てしまったのかもしれない。

すべての人が今シーズンのキーラに大きな期待をかけていたから、今回の結果は災難（disaster⇒ あるいは「大失敗」?）だ。でも、この世の終わりではないし、人生いろいろあるよ。これで今シーズンが終わってしまっても、キーラは来年もっと強くなって戻ってくる。僕らは待つさ。

追加情報: ヨーロッパ選手権への選考会では、そのシーズンのパーソナルベストが基準になるらしいことがわかった。もしそうなら、キーラはスザンナ、ローラとともに選手団入りすることになるが、フィンランドのスケート協会が決定を下すまでは確かではない。
