The Sportswriters’ Association in Finland has done their annual Athlete of The Year voting and the selections were announced in a gala event in Tampere. Jukka Keskisalo who won surprise gold in 3000m steeplechase in the European Championships was selected as the athlete of the year, and figure skater Kiira Korpi recieved the title young athlete of the year. The best in figure skating title went to the synchro skating team Marigold IceUnity that won the 2006 World Championships.

フィンランドのスポーツライター協会は毎年恒例の「今年のアスリート」投票を行い、タンペレのガライベントでその結果が発表された。ヨーロッパ選手権の3000m 障害（スティープルチェイス）で驚くべき金メダルを獲ったユッカ・ケスキサロが年間アスリート賞に選ばれ、フィギュアスケート選手のキーラ・コルピが年間ヤングアスリート賞を受賞した。フィギュアスケートの最優秀賞は、2006年の世界選手権で優勝したシンクロスケートチームのマリゴールド・アイスユニティだった。
