The suprise medal got Kiira so mixed up that she could not get any sleep on sunday morning.

– I woke up around half past five. I wasn’t really awake but couldn’t sleep either, Kiira told.

Kiira and Susanna were the most wakeful skaters in the gala practice. Not all top five skaters had gotten from the closing banquet to the hotel as early as the dutiful Finnish duo.

– I was back at hotel just before midnight. Me and Susanna got back from the banquet on the first bus.

Iltasanomat: Captivating medal-smile

– It was amazing. A dream come true. I have always dreamt of being on a podium in a championship competition. And there we were, a happy Kiira remembers her achievement.

After the competition the favourite skater of many was able to enjoy her medal in the traditional closing banquet and browse through all the congratulation messages on her cellphone.

Iltalehti：早起き

驚くべきメダル獲得にキーラはすっかり混乱してしまい、日曜の朝はぜんぜん眠れなかった。

「5時半ごろに目が覚めたんです。寝ぼけてたんだけど、眠れなくて」とキーラは言う。

キーラとスザンナ（・ポイキヨ）は、ガラの練習では最も目覚めのいい選手だった。上位5人の選手たちのなかで、礼儀正しいフィンランドの2人よりも早く閉幕のパーティからホテルに戻った選手はいなかった。

「12時前にホテルに戻りました。私とスザンナは最初のバスでパーティから帰ったんです」

Iltasanomat：心を奪うメダル、笑顔

「ビックリです。夢がかないました。チャンピオン大会で表彰台に上るのをずっと夢見てきたんですが、本当に立つことができたのです」キーラは喜びをかみしめる。

大会後、みんなが大好きなこの選手は、伝統的な閉幕パーティでメダル獲得の喜びを分かち合い、携帯電話に届くお祝いメッセージを読むことができた。
