Kiira was third on free skating, and second on final scores! The final score is 163.27 which is her personal best and also the best score ever for Finnish skaters on modern GP competitions.

Congrats again!
I think if everything goes well, she can easily score around 180 points on an ISU event. She gained confidence and routine during the early season competitions, and the quality of her skating is getting better and better. She also looks stronger booth physically and mentally for me.
Very good to see this progress.
Keep going Team Kiira!
I agree. If she makes clean SP I think she can reach even 65 points! I still wonder the high component score of Rochette and Kostner. Is it that if you have been on the WC podium you automatically get higher component score?! Well, I’m an amateur, I can only say what see. I think Kiira deserves better component score.
Otherwise is great to see her personal best score at this point of season! If she keeps going her development, she’ll be strong in Tallinn and earn her place to olympics. At least Susanna needs to improve a lot of her FS if she wants to be better than Kiira.
Hi, I’m late to be here.
Congrats, Kiira! YOU MADE IT!
Cheers, ladies and buddies!
A great, worthwhile SILVER MEDAL in such important competition
- yes, this is ISU Grand Prix Series where she really came back to!
With some faults, it didn’t seem to be her best FS perfromance for Kiira
but this would be her great confidence for upcoming competitions
- Finnish Nats, Euros and… Olympics!
And yes, I agree that Kiira’s component scores are… low.
Kiira deserves better scores.
I guess there are implicit “Ratings” apart from the World ranking.
Competitions are place to confirm performances to earn the Ratings.
Did I read too much?
Anyway, Go Team Kiira! Take care for the Nats!
Second article on Aamulehti tells Kiira will compete on December in Dortmund: that’s a news, which competition will it takes there in December? Is it a variation on programs or simply a mistake?
The competition in Dortmund, Germany is NRW Trophy which will be held in 3-6 December 2009.
Taskinen updated about it on our events calendar. Once I had turned it disappeared but now I just made it public.
I can’t find her name on their Entries list but I guess Kiira will take part in it.
her name is on the list now)
Hi taurhel,
Thanks for the info – I found it too and I’ll do something about it.
Anybody knows further info about it?
Kiira says in her blog (in Finnish, updated 13.11.) that she has now a training period before the competitions in December: Germany and nationals. She also tells that they have made the FS technically a little bit more difficult. I wonder what is that. 3-3-combination? 3 flip? Two 3 lutz?
The last one you said, I suppose: her trainer already talked about it on previous interviews.
