Interview after the SP (with translation, thanks Roikale95!):
Poor Kiira, not good luck today. She had only 2Lz-2T and she fell her 3Lo. IMHO Laura got way too high score. She doubled her 3Lo.
Just let’s say tomorrow is another day.
But is it alright if Kiira skates her FS with more difficult elements?
I know Kiira plans to skate more difficult programs so that she can get higher scores.
But sometimes programs should be easier to skate with confidence…
Figure skating is a mental sport like golf.
Anyway, believe in yourself, Kiira!
We believe in YOU will stand in the middle of the podium!
Yeah, stand up and fight!
Kiira seems to be very ambitious athlete. She knows that only way to achieve highest possible results in competitions like European- and World Champions and of course in olympics is to skate as difficult programs as she possibly can.
I believe that Kiira is absolutely sure that she can skate both programs with all those most difficult elements with them. Obviously, otherwise there wouldn’t be any sense to even try it.. 🙂
What i’ve understand, one of her biggest “goals” on her skating career is the Vancouver olympics. To make best possible result there, she have to push herself to the limit. Because i am definitey NOT a professional athlete, i’m only guessing here, but i think it’s very important to “test” those difficult programs in competitions also, and there are not that many chances to do that even before Vancouver.
I really, really hope and wish that Kiira will succeed in her FS tomorrow, or atually today. It’s going to be very tense four minutes to watch and hold my breath.. 😉
Good luck for Kiira!
I agree with Finner: probably, Kiira’s trying to get herself to a too higher level, maybe. That’s true, perhaps this could be the only way to compete with athletes like Yu-Na Kim or Asada or Leonova: but there are really too many risks in it. Chances to complete two clean programs are very low, in these conditions: it takes so many tests, and Kiira hasn’t that time, at the moment.
Anyway, nothing like confidence got through results: so, come on Kiira for today. At last, last year’s situation was worst, wasn’t it?
Kiira has done those difficult jumps for many years, I don’t think it’s too much in too short time. Last year she couldn’t just take lutz and flip in her programs because of the illness. I think it’s all between the ears and it would be the same with easier jumps. If she had easy program and she would make it well, she might not win any competitions just because the program is too easy. She has to take risks if she wants to compete. I think they test this new FS in nats and if it doesn’t work, it’s possible to make it easier to EC. But if she doesn’t try now, when would be better time to try?
Hi everyone!
I completely agree with Anna. If you want to win you have to take risks. The free skating today is good opportunity to test the more difficult program.
Goo Kiira!
greetful pretty kiira
one day we will see you a world champion
