Kiira Korpi, now in South Korea, threw out the opening pitch at Doosan Bears vs SK Wyverns professional baseball game on 20th April.
According to the news, Kiira was interested in the baseball fever in Korea and wanted to see baseball fans from the mound.

Kiira was taught how to respond to hand signals from the catcher and throw a ball… no, no, yes… strike!
I think the new Kiira’s manager is hardly working to export the Kiira’s image abroad..outside Finland..
For instance..in Turin she visited Juventus F.C..now in Korea..Festa on Ice and baseball game..
What a lousy teacher!! He did’nt teach her anything. Basically just stood there and watched? You can clearly see she was expecting for him to say something about pitching and he just stood there. Tsk,tsk..they should have asked me. Jimenez(the guy’s name) you dope!! Can’t you do anything right? But then, what do you expect from a guy who has 6.43 ERA. I feel sorry for her. And they should have sent Taru(Finnish lady in Korea) to the airport to interview her. It would have been more comforting to her.
Oh! one more thing. She definitely has the potential. She has the charisma and pose of a veteran ball player. Maybe they should replace Jimenez with Kiira.

Let’s see if Kiira will have in next months other sport public meeting…if she’ll attend others events in Finland or abroad….I think and hope so…It should be also an interesting marketing strategy :-;
I do like to play baseball now.
I think that in next months Kiira will attend university,begin new coreography and thinking about new programs and also will skate as usual…then we’ll see about spring and summer programs…it’s very important period…

If you look at the ” A gallery for some photo” on top, there is Kiira’s interview(regarding Gim Yuna 4/20) that nobody translated here. So allow me to brief it for fans. The questions were basically about Yuna’s uncertainty about her future.
Kiira’s responses:
1. “I knew Yuna since junior competitions.”
2. “Her decisions are her own but I hope she decides not to retire so we could compete together.”
3. “Remain as an amateur or turn pro, either way, I will continue to watch her perform.”
4. Did’nt know Yuna well during junior years due to language barrior but became close after turning senior.
5. Kiira will compete in 2014 Sochi but before that, her goal is to be among the top 3 in World Championship and Gran Prix tournament.
6. Had a hard time due to injury during 2008-09, but she’s better this year
7. She has never seen baseball in person and worries that she has no idea on how to throw a baseball(with a beautiful smile).
