Analysis of a season

I collected results of past Kiira’s season: I divided them in SP and FS.
Sometimes, base value for an element was different from usual: numbered notes are referred to the value in that competition. I also added an average of Components of Kiira during all last season.
All data took from ISU (http://www.isu.org): note “dg” means “downgraded jump”.

No doubt: Kiira has at her bow some “strong weapons”, like Spirals Sequence and final Combination, and her Triple Loop is also very good. Everybody can make their own deductions from these numbers, but one thing is for sure, and I persist on my thought:
it seems choreography it hasn’t been for sure first of her problems, at all…
moreover, Kiira, what about Transitions? And linking steps? But, above all, I think she should work on her Performance/Execution… that’s the gap with the top, in my opinion.
I’d be interested in your opinion, Anna, ’cause I think you’re a competent person: what do you think about?

Student athlete 2009 award ceremony

Kiira was awarded the student athlete of the year 2009 award last February, as we reported earlier. But since she couldn’t attend the award ceremony earlier, the award was given separately on Wednesday the 12th of May 2010.

In the ceremony at the University of Tampere there were representatives from the Finnish Student Sports Federation and University of Tampere. After the trophy ceremony Kiira told about how helpful they have been while combining sports and studying.

New rules for 2010-2011 competitions

ISU announced a new system of values for incoming season: you can find it at this link

http://isu.sportcentric.net/db/files/serve.php?id=1682

In my opinion, these changes will take to an increase of general scores, and should lead the athletes to take more risks in their programs…
