New York

Happy New Year 2011 wishes a glorious New Year 2011 for all our visitors!

Let’s also all wish Kiira a successful new year too! Go for it!

We can’t wait to see the new show program at the Europeans 🙂

Nordics 2011

Kiira has been selected, with Laura Lepisto and Juulia Turkkila, for next Nordics Championships, which will be held in Copenaghen – Danmark, from 10 to 13 of February.

She already won Nordics when she was a Junior, on 2004: time has come, for a new victory.

Kiira, miksi ei?

European Championships 2011

Suomen Taitoluistelu has announced choices for next Euros in Bern here:

Laura’s decided not to participate, so the three spots are gone to Kiira (of course), Juulia Turkkila (new Finnish Junior Champion) and Cecilia Torn, who collected a score (126,01) just a little bit better than Beata Papp (125,40).
Questionable decision, in my opinion: like happened for male field, preferring Valtter Virtanen to Bela Papp due to a strange criteria. Maybe well known, but the same criticizable.
In any case, it’ll be impossible to save three female spots, in such conditions.

Nationals: Kiira wins Finnish championship!

Kiira just finished first also in the Free Skating with a record score of 110.94 points. This gave her the total score of 172.43. Of course these points are not comparable to ISU event scores.

Nationals 2011

This weekend (17-19th December) will be held Finnish Championships in Turku.

Last news, they say Laura Lepisto won’t going to take part in this competition, because of her persistent problems to achilles: she will try to recover in time for Euros. Without Laura, I think should be impossible to save three spots for Finland. But this could be a great chance for many young skaters, especially for Beata Papp.

Go for gold, Kiira!
