Kiira skated her new short program at the All That Skate 2012 ice show last weekend in Korea:
Short Program 2012-2013: “The Girl with the Flaxen Hair”
Another performance by Kiira at the same ice show, Wide Awake by Katy Perry:

Damn… it was only an exhibition, that’s true, but her first act in Seoul (the new SP) it’s been quite a disaster, she didn’t land a jump!
But luckily we’ve about a month to go, before GP’s events… hoping that Kiira will develop her technical skills in time, most of all her Lutz.
I still cant understand what happened with that lutz. It used to be one of her best jumps. Since she began to land 3T-3T she lost it. And the flip too. I think in 2009 or 2010 she replaced the 3Lz-2T, I rarely saw her missing this combination, with 3T-3T. The real deal was to have both of them, not to replace one with the other. I would really like to see her again on the podium at Euros, and of course at GP, but now with the russian babies it will be very difficult if she doesnt recover quickly.
I completely agree with you, Ileana, except one thing: her Flip it’s ALWAYS been terrible… I think it’s been a splendid idea, removing it from her programs.
Yeah, I know about the flip. I wanted to say that she lost the flip too not that it was one of her best jumps. It was a good thing to replace it with anoher jump but when she did that, she also lost the lutz. And it is a pitty because she has very good jumping technique, good fleight and height. For example, I like the new russian babies but I dont like their tiny quick jumps. I cant even see the rotations, speaking about Lipnitskaia and Radionova. And I totally hate Alena’s jumps. Especially the ‘lutz-flip” or whatever that is. I want Kiira’s lutz back! Caro got back her flip, Kiira could do the same with her lutz:)
I think she will do it, Ileana: Lutz will be back in her SP. I’ve to say, I just have seen Kiira’s SP at the third day’s Galà, and there the exhibition was very good: some hesitation, but on the whole the SP has been very well executed indeed. Maybe, on the first day she was only a quite tired because of the long travel and rehearsal, poor Kiira… 🙂
I don’t understand your first comment, Northeagle! Her SP seemed to be in a good shape and I really like the choreography. Some new movements for her and also very enjoyable interpretation. She jumped 3T, 3Lo and 2A. Yes, she didn’t jump the 3T-3T but is that a disaster? No, I don’t think so.
There’s no lutz in her SP. She took it back to her FS. She has had problems with her legs, that’s why she has had problems with lutz (and flip) also.
The Russian babes may have the jumps but that’s all they have comparing to this beautiful young lady, this is women’s skating, not girls’ skating, IMHO.
I replaced the original clip posted by Timo (I beg your pardon, Timo), who was referred to Kiira’s first day SP, with this one, referred to third day (as you can see by title): and her performance in first day was absolutely terrible, Anna, even for a show. That’s the reason why I substituted Timo’s clip: ’cause she didn’t deserve an exhibition like that. In fact, her next performance then has been very good indeed.
There’s still no Lutz in her SP, you’re right Anna, but I read in an interview that she’d insert it: or perhaps I bad translate her words, and she was referring to her FS, may be. My knowledge of finnish language is still not so good… 🙂
But I agree she appears in a very good physical shape: and this is encouraging, after all her previous problems.
Ok, now I understand! I didn’t know she made the program twice. The first day performance was the first big performance after euros (only “Because I’m a girl”-gala in April), probably she was nervous?
She said in some interview that she added lutz to her FS, that makes sense because her loop is so strong and it’s good in SP.
You (and Timo, of course) could be the main (the only?) source of news from finnish media, Anna: ’cause nobody can translate’em better than you. Any help, or explanation, about it will be welcome, in every moment.
