Finland won’t be represented (regarding Ladies Skating) at next Olympics in Sochi on February: most likely, next possible competition for Kiira could be European Championships in Budapest (Hungary), from 13rd to 19th of January.

Well, there’s still a slight chance that two other countries withdraw their spots, apparently that’s very possible. However Kiira hopes to be back to full training mode by December and personally I don’t understand how that could be possible if she’s been rehabilitating her leg since about this January (for the prior achilles problem) and the achilles still didn’t hold when she started to train harder. In interviews she sounds like these are just unfortunate accidents but if there first is an inflammation in the achilles and then it ruptures then what have they been doing wrong? However, of course everything’s possible and she might even get to go to the Olympics, it remains to be seen..
There have been too many injuries lately, too many skaters are off the ice right now, not only Kiira but Evan Lysacek, Elena Leonova, etc. Czisny is recovering from injury, as is Kaetlyn Osmond, Julia Lipnitskaia, etc. I blame the new scoring system–it is pushing skaters beyond their limits.
